Music & Song

We add new themes and venues every year and this years’ new venture is Blues @ The Shoes. There is free entry to all venues and you can drop in and out as you want. None of our performers is paid so if you enjoy a set please drop something in the hat to show your appreciation.

Folk Club Stage

In St Margaret’s Hall, from 10am to 4pm with a cafe provided by Dorothy House. Organised for us as always by BoA Folk Club and this year it’s featuring all local talent. The programme is:

Wiltshire Music Centre Choral & Classics Stage

Holy Trinity Church, a great venue with fantastic acoustics, is the venue for a free all day concert featuring some of our best local choirs and classical musicians in six 45-minute performances from 10.15am to 3.30pm. Drop in and out as you want. We are very pleased that the WMC has adopted this stage for 2024 so expect some great acts. A full programme will be here soon. The Home Bakes Cafe will be serving hot and cold drinks and delicious home made cakes and tray bakes.

Blues @ The Shoes

The Three Horseshoes is a great pub especially for live music and they’ve always been very supportive of the GMF so we’re pleased to announce that we’ve added a new stage for 2024 – “Blues @ The Shoes” in the Three Horseshoes. It will run from 11am to 4.30pm and feature “original” blues. We’ve already got some great acts lined up and the full programme will be here soon.

Pubs Alive

There will be live music in town centre pubs from 12.30 to 2 so why not book a table for lunch and enjoy the gig. If you are a musician you are welcome to join in, all are open sessions. We’ve lost a couple of venues so are still searching from homes for the English and Irish sessions. Watch this space.

  •  Slow jam – mainly Old TIme, Bluegrass and American music in The Dandy Lion (players welcome).
  • French music in Timbrell’s Yard, pipes, hurdy-gurdy, concertina and fiddle.
