The full on Green Man Festival may be no more but we decided to go back to its 2017 roots when the event started as a Day of Morris Dance. Two smaller linked events happened on Saturday 9th May 2026 and we called it “The Little Green Men Day”:
- The Tithe Barn Workshops held a Folk Fringe event in their gardens. All the lovely artisan workshops were open, there was live music, bar, fast food and a few Morris dancers popped in as well.
- The town’s five Morris sides (Bathampton Morris Men, Bells Angels, Holt Morris, Moonrakers Border Morris and Towpath Morris) danced at a few locations around the town as shown on the poster. The wonderful Towpath Shanty Singers performed at 11.45am in Lamb Yard. It was a beautiful sunny day – as always – and we actually had a lot of spectators, even though we only advertised it in town. The several mass join in dances proved very popular with over 70 people dancing!
