There will be lunchtime music sessions in town centre pubs and cafes. They were very popular last year so it’s worth booking a table for lunch to guarantee a place. Those described as “sessions” are open to all musicians, for more information or to set up a new session please email us. The dance programme will give all their musicians time to join sessions.
We already have English, French, Blues and Appalachian sessions booked so watch this space for more information.
Appalachian Session @ Timbrell’s Yard: Timbrell’s Yard is next door to the St Margaret’s Hall concert venue. It is a dance venue all day and will be visited by our giant Jack In The Green during the day. They are a proper pub with the heart of a ‘local’, stocking regional craft beers, West Country ciders and carefully chosen wines. Dog friendly. They serve snacks straight from the kitchen, or you can tuck into the full restaurant menu. Menu here.
Blues @ The Three Horseshoes: will host a session of local blues musicians. There is dancing in their garden all day. They have another live band on Saturday evening . All you need to know about The Three Horseshoes is – “Brilliant pub, great music, great welcome, great atmosphere, great beer”.
English Session @ The Swan we have a lot of English folk musicians in and around the town. They will be playing in the Swan. It is a dance venue all day, the site of our Pagan Arts & Crafts market and will be visited by our giant Jack In The Green during the day. The Swan has the character and charm of an old country inn with a popular bar and a Thai Restaurant, with authentic Thai food all freshly prepared by their Thai chefs, which is served alongside a more traditional pub classics menu. Menu here.
The French Session has musicians but is still looking for a home. Watch this space.
Irish / Scottish Session? We’d love to have one but can never find enough musicians – any Irish musicians not going to the birthday party? Please email us.
